Installation and setup
How do I install Terrazza?
Upload the theme ZIP in Shopify admin under Online Store > Themes, or use the Shopify CLI workflow used by your team. Open Customize, choose a preset, assign your menus and store resources, then preview before publishing. Shopify controls the upload and publishing workflow.
Does a preset create my products and pages?
No. A preset supplies a starting arrangement and visual settings. Products, collections, pages, articles, menus, images, prices, inventory, and metafields must exist in Shopify and be selected in the editor.
Which pages does the theme support?
The shipped templates cover home, collection, product, cart, search, blog, article, generic page, About, Contact, FAQ, landing page, customer account views, gift card, password, collection index, and 404. Assign templates in Shopify admin; URLs and content remain Shopify resources.
Home and design
Which home sections are available?
The home configuration uses announcement bar, header, hero, reassurance, category bubbles or tiles, tabbed products, hamper builder, promotional banners, featured product, image and text, season dial, producers rail, pairing picker, process content, FAQ, journal, newsletter, and footer. Sections can be reordered, removed, or added in the editor.
Does Terrazza include more than one preset?
Version 1.0 ships one preset, Terrazza: the warm cream, terracotta, olive, and saffron default. You can still change colors, typography, and layout in Theme settings, and the four color schemes let sections alternate backgrounds. More presets will be added in later updates. A preset changes presentation; it does not change the underlying Shopify catalog.
Can I change colors and typography?
Yes. Theme settings provide coordinated color schemes and font_picker controls for heading and body fonts. Use the supplied schemes as a contrast-safe starting point. Custom text, images, Custom Liquid, and app blocks still need their own contrast check.
How do I add a logo or favicon?
Upload the logo in Theme settings > Brand and set its width. The inverse logo is used where the header is over a dark or image background. Favicon and social sharing image settings are managed by Shopify's theme settings and store branding workflow. A logo image does not automatically create a favicon.
Can I hide a section on mobile or desktop?
Where the section exposes visibility controls, use Hide on mobile or Hide on desktop. Review the result at both sizes: hiding content can remove the only explanatory text or action in a layout, so keep an equivalent path available.
Cart, subscriptions, and product data
Does the cart support accelerated checkout and discounts?
The cart and cart drawer render Shopify's line discounts, totals, notes, gift-message attribute, complementary recommendations, and accelerated checkout when those capabilities are enabled and returned by Shopify. Payment methods and discount eligibility are decided by Shopify checkout, not by the theme.
How do native selling plans work?
Create a selling-plan group on the product through Shopify or a compatible subscription service. The product page then shows the available native plans and submits the selected plan. The cart displays the returned selling-plan allocation. Terrazza does not create subscriptions or replace a subscription app's administration.
Does the product page support quantity breaks?
Yes, when Shopify provides quantity_rule or quantity_price_breaks for the selected variant. The theme presents the rule and the prices supplied by Shopify. It does not invent a bulk discount.
How do I show what a hamper or gift box contains?
Configure the product metafield used by the Contents block as a list of products, then add that block to the product template. The list must contain real Shopify product references. If the metafield is empty, the block has no useful content and should be removed or completed in the editor.
Can I offer local pickup?
The product page can show store availability for each variant when Shopify returns pickup locations. Pickup choices, location hours, fulfillment eligibility, and the final method at checkout depend on Shopify locations and fulfillment settings. The footer's pickup block is informational and does not book a pickup slot.
Where do recommendations come from?
Product recommendations and cart complementaries use Shopify product data and the products selected in theme settings or blocks. They are not reviews, popularity claims, or an external recommendation engine. A store may need Shopify's recommendation data or an app for more advanced logic.
Navigation and discovery
How do I create the mega menu?
Create a nested menu in Content > Menus, then assign it in the header. Add visual mega-menu blocks if you want collection or editorial images. The mobile drawer uses the same menu hierarchy and is not a separate catalog.
Does the theme include filters and predictive search?
Yes. The collection and search templates expose Shopify's filters in a desktop sidebar or mobile drawer, with sorting and useful empty states. The header can use Shopify predictive search for products, collections, pages, articles, and queries according to Theme settings. The available filter values and search results come from Shopify data.
Why is a collection or product missing from a section?
Check that the resource is published to the relevant sales channel, available in the current market, not hidden by a filter, and selected in the section setting. For a product card, also check that its variant is available and that the product does not require a choice that quick add cannot make.
Languages, markets, and accessibility
Does Terrazza translate my store automatically?
The theme's interface strings are localized through Shopify locale files and Shopify's translation tools. Merchant copy, product data, menu labels, metafields, image alt text, Custom Liquid, and app content need their own translations. Shopify Markets controls languages, currencies, catalogs, taxes, and checkout behavior.
What accessibility features are included?
The theme provides a skip link, semantic structure, visible keyboard focus, labeled controls, keyboard-operable navigation and accordions, live updates for relevant interactive states, and reduced-motion support. Test the final store with its actual images, translations, apps, and custom code; those can introduce new issues.
How should I prepare images?
Use sharp, well-lit media with the important subject inside the crop. Square images suit product cards, portraits suit arch treatments, and the hero has separate desktop and mobile media settings. Write concise descriptive alt text. Do not place essential product information only in an image.
Support and responsibility
Does Terrazza include reviews, wish lists, or urgency timers?
No. The theme does not create reviews, ratings, wish lists, countdowns, fake stock notices, or invented statistics. Use a genuine compatible app for a function that Shopify does not provide natively, and add its app block where the template supports one.
Who should I contact when checkout or shipping is wrong?
Contact Shopify for checkout, payments, taxes, shipping rates, markets, inventory, pickup configuration, and platform behavior. Contact the app developer for an app block or subscription service. Contact theme support for shipped Terrazza settings, sections, documented blocks, and reproducible theme defects. Include the theme version, URL, template, browser, steps, and a redacted screenshot.
